Why isn’t your child’s location updating?

If your child’s location isn’t updating and you’re seeing a message asking you to allow location access, it means location permissions for the Mobicip app are missing.

To fix this, follow the steps below on both the parent and child devices.

  1. iOS: Go to Settings > Apps > Mobicip > Location > Select Always. Make sure Precise Location is turned ON.
  2. Android: Go to Settings > Apps > Mobicip > Permissions > Location > Allow all the time. Also ensure that “Use precise location” is turned ON.

After enabling permissions

  1. Open the Mobicip app on the child’s device and keep it running for a few minutes.
  2. Open the built-in Maps app (Apple Maps/Google Maps) and check if the device’s location appears correctly.
  3. Go back to the Mobicip Parent app and try locating the device again.
